Château Grangey We ship our wines direct from our property in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, Saint-Émilion.

On leaving Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, Château Grangey stands out for its size. The 6 hectare vineyard in one piece, consists of small plots located around the winery.

The immediate environment is a natural circus where vines, valleys, forests meet. There are bell towers in the surrounding villages, a picturesque 12th century church rises opposite on the hill.

Respect for the soil and nature is essential in order to produce quality grapes. The soils are worked in a reasoned way, to preserve their potential.

One of the typical features of the Saint-Emilionnais vineyard is the smallness of the rows, especially on old vines, for many tasks, the hand of man is a necessity.

First wine of the Château, this wine of great aging with an intense color and a harmonious structure, is vinified manually using the punching technique to promote a more intense and softer extraction.
Château Grangey Les Cinq Parcelles AOC Saint Émilion Grand Cru
Château Grangey is made up of five plots called “le pigeonnier” and “le cerisier” for those on the top of the property, “du chai”, “les bouchets” and “le pré” for the other three.

The soil of these five plots is heterogeneous but dominates here the clay and the silts, the limestone having remained on the plateau of the hill. The various sediments left us silts on brown clays which give the grapes a nice aging potential.
