Château Lagarosse
Tabanac (Entre-deux-Mers)
Château Lagarosse is located in the town of Tabanac, a charming village half an hour from Bordeaux, in the heart of the region where the history of the vine began in France with the Romans 2,000 years ago. The town is named after Tavanus, the owner of the time. A large number of Neolithic and Gallo-Roman remains attest to the antiquity of the site.
In the 11th century, Tabanac became an important gathering place for all the neighboring nobility. Tabanac is today a traditional and picturesque village which has the distinction of still housing on its land 6 castles including Château Lagarosse.
Château Lagarosse occupies a vineyard of over 30 hectares covering the sunniest slopes in the area. The naturally drained and stony terrain has an interesting variety of soils, ranging from clay-limestone soils of the highest elevation to clay and gravel soils along the hills. The vines have an average age of 30 years. The natural conditions, influenced by the proximity of the Garonne, offer Château Lagarosse powerful, rich and balanced wines on the palate.
