CASTLE SAINCRIT ORIGINS

Between 1860 and 1880, the invasion of vine phylloxera destroyed almost all of the French vineyards.

Along the Gironde estuary, the farmers turned to the cultivation of wheat, many mills were erected on the surrounding hillsides. At the end of the 19th century, Vincent SAINCRIT, a miller by profession, decided to replant vines on the hillside of MONTALON. Thus was born the CHATEAU SAINCRIT, of this man and his descendants who passed on the vineyard for five generations.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

Château SAINCRIT is located in the south west of France, in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, north of Bordeaux, in the commune of Saint-André-de-Cubzac; The property is crossed by the 45th parallel north and therefore located at an equal distance from the North Pole and the earth's equator.

VINES & WINES

The vineyard is planted in the production area of the AOC Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur and now covers 22 hectares. Merlot mixes with Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Malbec and Sauvignon Gris on clay, limestone or sandy soils. The range of wines from Château SAINCRIT is the expression of this diversity.
