Clos Présent

Clos Présent

Albas (Languedoc)

Like many stories, the creation of this estate began with love at first sight. After training in organic viticulture and oenology, I discovered the village of Villeneuve-les-Corbières quite by chance, and I quickly decided to settle there and create my own estate. I found vineyards of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, Muscat, and Macabeu under lease, as well as a cellar to renovate in the beautiful village of Albas, just a few kilometers away. Since then, I have been cultivating these vines, planted between 1947 and 1980, organically (certification pending since 2023), without a tractor. Treatments, pruning, bud removal, clearing, harvesting—everything is done by hand and on my back, despite the steep slopes! In the cellar, I work my wines gently, in a two-story cellar that allows me to rack them by gravity. Maceration is carried out by plot before the wines are blended. The wines are aged in stainless steel tanks or barrels, depending on the wine's profile. I don't use any oenological products, except for a touch of sulfite if absolutely necessary. Most of my wines are made with grapes and nothing else! My goal is to express this rich and vibrant terroir as faithfully as possible, resulting in expressive yet very approachable and fresh wines that I hope you will enjoy!
